A backflip is more than just a trick; it’s a metaphor for overcoming obstacles. At the Nkere Acro Community Organization, we see every jump, every lift, and every moment of balance as a step toward a better life for our athletes. We don’t just train gymnasts; we cultivate disciplined, resilient young individuals who are ready to lead.
For too long, elite sports like gymnastics have been viewed as inaccessible or focused only on immediate income generation. Our founder, Massembe Hassan Rice, realized this limited vision was failing to develop long-term talent. Having experienced similar challenges in his own upbringing, he was inspired to create a safe and supportive space devoted to identifying, nurturing, and empowering passionate youth.
Discipline as the Ultimate Life Skill
Our core work is making acrobatics an empowerment tool. The structured training demands focus, consistency, and commitment. These aren’t just athletic skills; they are non-negotiable life skills that promote resilience and personal growth. When a child masters a complicated routine, they gain an unshakable confidence they carry into school, family life, and their future careers.
Operating at the Highest Standard
The Nkere Acro Community Organization is built on a foundation of Excellence and Integrity. This commitment is reflected in the leadership of our founder, who also serves as the President of Acrobatics at the Uganda Gymnastics Federation and a Technical Committee member at the African Union of Gymnastics. This connection ensures our training protocols meet national and international standards, truly preparing our young athletes to represent Uganda with pride. We believe that talent, when nurtured with purpose, can change lives. Our mission is to transform lives, build confidence, and break barriers by making this empowering sport accessible to every child, regardless of background or financial status.
